I love Darxhan so much. I'm so thankful to be here everyday. It's so beautiful.
This week was a pretty quiet week. On Thursday my companion had to go do sister trainer stuff, so I got to serve in a different area, in the same city. I am serving in New Darxhan and I served in Old Darxhan for a day. It was so wonderful. It is more country over there. There are more gehr districts and it's more green for some reason, and people are always riding horses everywhere. I met so pretty amazing people. I hope I get to serve there again soon. So this one guy I met. He has been a member for a long time. He is very old and I shared a scripture with him, but I got 2 sentences and then he goes off on his tangents. So I told him I couldn't drink milk. And he goes off on a tangent that if I have faith I can drink milk. I finally explained that I was allergic to it and but he probably still didn't understand. And the 2nd tangent was that I needed to meet young mongolian men... I told him. I can't i'm a missionary right now. And he said, ok after your mission you can come back and meet them. I just died after he told me that. And he had all this advice of which I didn't really understand. I can understand if people are talking about church things, but if people go off in tangents I get lost.
This week we helped this new member plant her garden. It was such a nice day and we got a little tan. I was so thankful to garden. It was a nice break. And this lady we gardened for, she really wants to teach us how to make mongolian traditional wear. So we are going to make little baby deth's.
This week we met with our in investigator Ochir and his wife. He is the one that doesn't have a voice box that we found through one of our less actives. So we have this lesson about the restoration. And he has all theses amazing questions. But his wife was translating for us. But she is a Buddhist, and she was explaining that she will always be Buddhist, so she wouldn't translate for him. It was so sad. But I was so excited that he was asking these questions. And we gave him a BOM and told him to read it. But he said he can't read, because he has a heart problem. If he looks at anything too long, he gets a bad headache. So we told him to have someone read it to him. And he said he didn't need to and he will just learn on his own. I admire his faith, but we keep praying that he will read the book of mormon. I am really excited to see what will happen in our next lesson.
This week I was reading in Alma. And this verse has stuck out to me for the past week. Alma 37:46-47
46 O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.
47 And now, my son, see that ye take care of these sacred things, yea, see that ye look to God and live. Go unto this people and declare the word, and be sober. My son, farewell.
The part that stands out to me is if we look, we will live. I am still trying to figure this out in my head. But so far this is what I have been thinking about. The only way to live a truly meaningful, fulfilled life is if we look to God. Our Heavenly Father knows us perfectly, He loves us perfectly. Only when we look to him, and hope in him, will we understand how he sees us. He sees our potential always. We should try to have this perspective that he has.
Well I hope that makes sense. I felt like that was just some rambling. But I love you family! Stay safe! Luke keep fishing!
